Easter Celebrations

Easter in Guatemala is quite different than in Canada. The Easter bunny and his chocolate eggs apparently don’t live here. There is however, an entire week (Holy Week) of activities such as a parade where Jesus is carried in a coffin through the streets and Judas can be found hanging from various trees; It doesn’t exactly paint a warm picture like the Easter bunny does. Amber made the holiday more festive by inviting us over to paint eggs and have an egg hunt for the kids. They also joined me in an “egg cracking contest” which is a tradition I share with my family.
